Paul is the guy behind the camera at Old Skool Optics. Passionate about all things photography, he is the kind of seller who knows his product inside and out.
Paul sells just about anything to do with photography. From cameras and film to lenses, darkroom gear, and collectables, it’s best if you seek out Old Skool Optics with an open mind. All items are secondhand or vintage, with many items rigorously tested and in working condition.
Old Skool Optics was born out of Paul’s “deep love for photography and the timeless craftsmanship of old cameras.”
As digital technology advances at lightspeed, Paul says he’s “always been drawn to the charm and character of both film cameras and early digital models – the ones that captured images with unique quirks, tones and textures.”
“Over the years, I began collecting not just cameras and lenses, but also the stories and memories that came with them,” says Paul.
“My passion grew from a personal collection into a mission to restore, curate, and share these beautiful machines with others who appreciate the art and history behind them.”

Paul’s favourite part of this endeavour is simply:
“Photographing my kids with a camera I fixed and a film I developed myself.”
He won’t admit it, but that certainly brought a tear to Grandpa’s weary eye.
Those who shop Old Skool optics are usually passionate photographers who like to keep vintage gear in use and appreciate retro photography.
Not an avid photographer? Don’t be alarmed! Old Skool Optics has a range of secondhand point-and-shoot film cameras as well as new disposable cameras to capture those drunken parties, camping trips, and snaps of your fur babies. Grandpa understands that even the unprofessional appreciate film’s ability to capture the moment.
Old Skool Optics has a permanent space in My Dead Grandpa and can also be shopped via its website.
