Yes. There are approximately 35 paid parking spaces directly outside My Dead Grandpa.

The car park is not owned or managed by MDG, so availability cannot be guaranteed.

Yes. We have ramp access into the store and maintain wheelchair-compliant walkways wherever possible.

Accessibility is a priority in how we manage the shop floor. As stock and displays change regularly, please speak with a staff member if you need help navigating any part of the store.

My Dead Grandpa is home to more than 40 independent sellers, each with their own range.

Across the store you will find vintage and secondhand clothing, records, CDs, DVDs, VHS tapes, books, comics, cameras, furniture, homewares, toys, collectables and plenty of things that are harder to categorise.

Stock changes constantly as sellers restock their spaces.

Yes. Dogs and other pets are welcome inside My Dead Grandpa.

We ask that owners supervise their pets and clean up after them if needed.

Shopping at My Dead Grandpa

Our independent sellers are strongly encouraged to present clothing in a clean, well-maintained and ready-to-wear condition.

Because we work with a large number of sellers and process a wide variety of secondhand stock, we cannot guarantee that every garment has been washed. We recommend washing secondhand clothing before wearing it.

We do not offer returns for change of mind or incorrect sizing. Change rooms are available in store, so we encourage customers to try clothing on before purchasing.

Items with faults or damage that were not disclosed at the time of sale may be eligible for a refund, replacement or store credit.

Technology should be labelled as tested or untested. Physical media is sold on the understanding that it is playable unless a fault has been disclosed.

Please return the item with its original tag attached and proof of purchase.

Some independent sellers may agree to an exchange for another size. This must be arranged directly with the seller, usually through their Instagram account. The agreement must then be shown to MDG staff before the exchange can be processed.

Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law continue to apply.

Yes. Gift cards are available to purchase in store.

No. We do not place items on hold.

Because stock is sold by a large number of independent sellers, items remain available to purchase until payment has been completed.

Selling and supplying stock

My Dead Grandpa does not generally buy stock directly from the public.

You can send us photographs of the items and your phone number, and we may pass the enquiry on to our seller community as a potential lead.

Any discussion about value, price or purchase is then handled directly between you and the interested seller. MDG does not appraise the items, decide what they are worth or take part in the transaction.

No. My Dead Grandpa does not offer consignment.

Our sellers operate their own independent businesses and license a permanent retail space within the store.

Prospective sellers can submit an application outlining what they sell and how their range would fit within MDG.

Applications are reviewed based on the quality and presentation of the stock, category availability and fit within the wider store. Suitable applicants are then invited to complete a seller interview as part of our vetting process.

Submitting an application does not guarantee that a space will be offered.

My Dead Grandpa uses a mixed model made up of a monthly licensing fee and a commission on sales.

The licensing cost depends on the type of stock being sold and the kind of space required. Some categories, such as fashion, tend to generate higher sales and have greater demand from prospective sellers. Spaces in slower-moving categories are generally priced lower.

As a general guide:

  • A retail space of approximately 9 square metres can range from $350 to $1,105 per month.
  • A cabinet can range from $150 to $280 per month.
  • MDG also retains a commission from sales processed through the store.

The final offer depends on the category, location, size and availability of the space. Prospective sellers receive the relevant pricing during the application and interview process.

When asking about a purchase, please include the seller name, item number or a photograph of the tag where possible.
